26-year-old Oliver Nelson is truly taking the world by storm and is leading the current group ofNordic exports coming out of Sweden, Norway and Denmark.His productions have amassed over 80million plays across Soundcloud and 60million streams on Spotify proving that this artist is set for dizzy heights.Originally growing up in Stockholm, Oliver’s first love of music came in the form of the drums and itwasn’t until 2007 that Oliver found electronic and fell in love. The very first life track was Justice and their single "D.A.N.C.E" which inspired Oliver to explore producing music on a more serious note.Going to a specialist music school and playing the drums created influences that will stay with him forever. He fondly recalls his teacher telling him he would never makeit in the music industry as he couldn’t read note-sheets, he learnt everything himself through pure listening.Inspiration came from a broadrange and style of music and influences. Artists like Toto, Peter Gabriel and Jamiroquai all the way through to Ed Banger, Kavinsky, Goldroom and Ben Khan.Using ‘Reason’ and ‘Ableton’it was some 3 years before Oliver felt he had perfected his workenough to actually put it online and let others hear his music. From that point on, the rest is nearhistory, going from unofficial remixes to being contracted for artists such as Blonde, Janet Jackson,Urban Cone, Bon Iver, Kim Cesarion, MNDR, Jutty Ranx, Keljet, Mikky Ekko, Ella Henderson, Route94, Max Marshall, Ariana & The Rose, The Knocks, Lemaitre, Priory, Cazzette, Tove Lo, The Kooks andmore.Oliver regularly receives support from some of the web’s most influential blogs, websites and YouTube channels such as Suicide Sheep, Indie Shuffle, Dancing Astronaut, Earmilk, Kick Kick Snare,The Vibe Guide, Mr Revillz and many more. Heir’ (Skogsrå) exclusively premiered with Mr Suicide Sheep and mighty music blog Indie Shuffle! ‘Found Your Love’ went straight to No. 1 on Hype Machine and got snapped up by major label Polydor for release in May 2016. It currently has1.55million plays on Soundcloud and over one million cumulative views on the official music video across Vevo and YouTube.Over the summer of2015,Oliver hit the U.S. for a debut tour, playingsell out shows including a headline set in New York at the Full Moon Party (Brooklyn Mirage)alongside Tensnake; at San Fran’s Summertime Radness Pool Party,and Sound Nightclub in Hollywood. Festival appearances followed at TomorrowWorld inGeorgia and FNRSD in California, plus support slots for the likes of Kygo, Thomas Jack and Hayden James through his 3-month US tour. 2016 saw further shows for Oliver around the globe with his debut atDiscothrill Wanderlust in Paris, 1015 Folsom in San Fran to a 2000 capacity crowd alongside Juan Mclean, and a return appearance toKitsuné at Soho House Miami. This
then followed with Oliver’s next release ‘Changes’ featuring vocals from River who is best known for her feature on ‘Tobtok’ and his record Fast Car. Changes achieved over 1 million streams on Spotify.Oliver then brings back his classic nu-disco sound in September 2016 titled ‘Ain’t A Thing’ with soulful vocals from Kaleem Taylor. The track accumulated over 2.3 million streams on Spotify with support from the likes of Elton John on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Rocket Hour and Mark Knight on his Toolroom Radio show whilst also hitting the No. 1 spot on Hype Machine. Oliver also featured the new single in his very own compilation series on Toolroom Recordstitled ‘Croatia Poolside 2016’. Ending 2016 with a bang, Oliver remixes one of the biggest tunes of the year from NEIKED titled ‘Sexual’ which has achieved over 11.7million streams to date and multiple plays on BBC Radio 1. In early 2017, Oliver released ‘Rhubarb’ an up-tempo disco-house jam made for the DJs, the track was supported by the likes of Watermat, Sam Feldt, Just Kiddin, Blonde, Mike Mago, Klingande and Ryan Blyth whilst also hitting the No, 9 spot in the Music Week Coolcuts Club Chartand giving Oliver a hat trick No. 1 on Hype Machine. This successfollowed with Oliver playing a number of shows including Owl Festival, Sounce Parade, Lille Ole Bulle, Øya Festivaland then ending the summer supporting Kygo at Ushuaia in Ibiza. In October, Oliver released his first ever collaboration with Tropical House king ‘Kygo’ for Kygo’s second album ‘Kids In Love’ titled ‘Riding Shotgun’. The trackinstantlyhit a number of viral charts in Norway and the USA and over 1 million streams within a week on Spotify. Next and ending the year out, Oliver released his fifth single on Perfect Havoc titled ‘Feel Alright’ featuring vocals from Australian singer ‘Guy Sebastian’ –a happy up-tempo fun and disco pop styled track.
