Description
Like most projects, Bixi started off as an idea with collaborative artists from Miami wanting to create something more for Burning Man. We wanted to build something that others could enjoy so we left our home and moved to San Francisco. We started small with a bus built into a submarine made of bamboo and wood, but the success of it made us we want to go bigger. The idea of creating Bixi came from 2013’s Burning Man theme “Cargo Cult.” With the body of a tortoise and the head of a dragon, Bixi is the first-born son of the great dragon of China and is said to be able to carry great weights. So we built her to be able to carry over 100 people around the desert to enjoy all its glory.
Bixi currently resides with Moonwalk Mission. A warm and inclusive community built for us, by us. We chill together, dance together, create together, and explore together. We inspire and enable creative, intellectual and emotional expression. Bixi and Moonwalk Mission are all about vibes and community. Hop on; join us, and let us take you for a ride.
