Marketing entrepreneur turned house music devotee, Zenbi is quickly becoming one of the hottest names in Washington DC’s flourishing international tech- and tribal-house scene. Zenbi, translated as “Good & Beautiful” in Japanese, has dedicated his time to building a house music-centric lifestyle brand that clearly embodies those attributes.
Zenbi started spinning vinyl in the mid 90’s in Philadelphia – being heavily influenced by the music culture pioneered by local legends Josh Wink and King Britt. The sound of Zenbi today has matured to incorporate an infectious blend of sexy tribal and tech house grooves that are increasingly putting him in high-demand. Zenbi has packed crowds throughout North and South America with a love and focus on his newfound hometown of Washington DC.
As a DJ and Performer, Zenbi conceived his monthly Good&Beautiful Party – a rooftop event held the 3rd Friday of each month at Eden Nightclub (http://www.edendc.com). Good&Beautiful has evolved into both a place for Zenbi to continue to refine his craft – as well as a vehicle for special guest performers (truly up-and-coming international DJs, Producers, and Performers) to build brand equity in DC. Good&Beautiful guests have included the likes of Robert Manos, Sydney Blu, Uner, Anthony Attalla, and John Creamer.
As the owner of Zenbi Recordings, Zenbi is focused on producing, signing, and distributing tech- and tribal-house music that satisfies one requirement – “our sounds will make people dance.” Artists signed to the Zenbi Recordings roster include Wally Lopez, Saeed Younan, Uner, Anthony Attalla, John Creamer, Stephane K, Dr. Kucho, Ron Costa, Sideburn & Redondo, and many more to come.
Zenbi Recordings’ inaugural release, Zenbi’s Double Trouble (Redondo & Sideburn Remix) broke into the Beatport tech house top 20 and overall top 35 downloads.
Aside from DJing, producing, and managing Zenbi Recordings, Christopher (“Zenbi”) Porter is the Chief Executive Officer of the one of the US’s market-leading information technology training companies – Training Camp (http://www.trainingcamp.com).
