Description
Whitney Day is a New York City-based DJ and a prominent fixture in the lgbtq community. She has DJ'd countless events from international circuit festivals to fashion shows. Outside of the club you can catch her performing at benefits for major non-profit organizations such as GLAAD, The Doe Fund, HMI, MENY, The Center, The Gay & Lesbian Task Force, The Brooklyn Community Pride Center and NYC Heritage of Pride.
Considered to be NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg's go-to DJ, Whitney was the official DJ for the Giants' Superbowl Parade in 2012, spun for the Annual Pride BBQ at Gracie Mansion and performed at The Barclay's Center for the State of the City Speech. Often she stretches beyond her home-base to spin in Boston, Rhode Island, Miami, Puerto Rico, Washington DC, Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Las Vegas & internationally.
Whitney's expansive music knowledge, technical skills behind the decks and ability to read a crowd secured her the headlining spot at Berlin's most popular lesbian party at the SchwuZ as well as a coveted place in the 2012 & 2013 line-up for Europe's largest women's music festival in Germany, L-BEACH. She will return in 2014 to DJ on the main stage for a roaring crowd of 5,000+ women.
In 2012, Whitney morphed from DJ to event producer with the launch of the former Wednesday party 'Glossy'. From weekly, after-work soirees, to monthly rooftop parties to queer fashion events, Whitney has produced dozens of events. Now she keeps her focus on select large-scale parties of 500-1,500 attendees and DJing top quality music events and DJ gigs.
