Vello Virkhaus (aka VJV2) has performed, VJ'd and installed over 600 multimedia events in the past seven years as an internationally groundbreaking artist and Co-Founder of OVT Visuals. OVT Visuals is a multimedia video art company that broke new ground by establishing the presence of the VJ in America. The animations and visual spectacles created by OVT continue to be installed and displayed in galleries, festivals and nightclub environments all over the world. The work of this "young master" has received high acclaim from audiences and critics not only in the states, but internationally in London, Puerto Rico and Vancouver.
Most recently, Vello's visuals and VJ skills were showcased at the 4th Annual Metropolis at 3com Park in San Francisco, CA. This amazing concert festival featured Crystal Method, Bt, Doc Martin, Dj Sneak, Deepsky, Goldie, Black Eyed Peas and many others. At the USC event United State of Consciousness VJV2 mixed on two stages at once, filling six giant screens with stunning visuals. USC featured top acts such as Utah Saints, Freddy Fresh, Donald Glaude and Dieselboy. Other notable events include Coachella Music Festival with 65,000 + in attendance and headliners such as Oasis, Bjork, Groove Armada, Paul Oakenfold and Prodigy to name a few. Vello's spectacular visuals were also seen at Audiotistic 2002 with 36,000 + in attandence and acts such as Mos Def, Roni size, DJ Dan, Christopher Lawrence and Donald Glaude. Let's not forget that VJV2 also heated up three giant JumboTron screens at the Ultra Beach Festival in Miami. Ultra drew over 43,000 people and featured headliners including: Paul Van Dyke, Dimitri from Paris, Crystal Method, and Carl Cox.
VJV2 is one of the most amazing VJ's in the world. His animation and broadcast designs are featured in a brand new book Motion Graphics FILM + TV. This book showcases the hottest leading studios and artists from around the world. Vello's visuals have been featured at the Summer Solstice event for several years. This event is co-produced by OVT Visuals and takes place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. This year VJV2 VJ'd live onto the outside of the Museum.
