Description

New York City-based indie rock band Sir Chloe’s most recent single, “July,” utilizes their signature sound of distorted guitars and reverb drenched vocals to create a dreamy, trance-like lo-fi product. Started during their senior year at Bennington College, front woman Dana Foote formed Sir Chloe when she decided to put on a concert instead of a more traditional senior thesis assignment. With her brother Palmer Foote on drums, producer Teddy O’Mara on guitar, and Austin Holmes on bass, Sir Chloe is a healthy mix of Bikini Kill, Hole, and Beach Bunny. The standout drumming on “July” keeps the listener bobbing their head in sync with the song. Foote’s vocals beautifully washing over the listener, ensures that the universal message of heartbreak is etched into their mind. While the theme of loss remains relatable, the story told within the lyrics comes across as uniquely distinct.
