Pole Position is an exhilarating new project born in the vibrant city of Barcelona, brought to life by two highly experienced and renowned figures in the music industry: Loïc Le Joliff, the visionary director and founder of Brunch Electronik, and Jaime Alguersuari, a former Red Bull Formula 1 driver now making his mark in the music world as Squire. Loïc’s musical journey began in Montreal, where he unearthed his profound passion for electronic music. His career took off with the creation of his own label and a solo DJ career under the name Lee Jo Life. His path eventually led him to Barcelona, where he launched Brunch Electronik. It was here, at one of his events, that he crossed paths with Jaime Alguersuari. Jaime, once celebrated as one of the youngest drivers in Formula 1 history, has seamlessly transitioned into the music industry, rebranding himself as Squire. The immediate connection between Loïc and Jaime was fueled by their shared passions for music and Formula 1. Their discerning taste in music and innovative approach to sound quickly revealed their shared influences, ranging from Jazz, Soul, and Hip Hop to Funk and evolving soundscapes. This synergy inspired them to create a new record label and social brand in Barcelona, leading to the birth of Ànims. The label’s releases have captured the attention of iconic artists such as me, Dixon, Adriatique, Solomun, John Digweed, and Carl Cox. With a dynamic lineup of releases scheduled for 2024, including an EP and several remixes, Pole Position is poised to lead listeners on an electrifying musical journey. In addition to their production work, Pole Position is making waves on the live scene with a packed schedule of national and international shows. Their performances are gaining widespread acclaim, further establishing their reputation in the global electronic music community.
