Description
Born Patrick Pierre in 1976, his musical inflences goes from the soul, disco & funk from the 70's, to the new wave and electronic music from the 80's, while growing with the hip-hop culture in the late 80's-early 90's era, but his very first contact with the underground dance culture began around 1987 during many trips to New York, listening to house mixed tapes & radio shows from local DJ's. Since then, his love for house music & underground sounds has only continued to grow. He started to buy records at the age of 13 and got his first pair of turntables two years later. After playing in local parties and clubs, he started to play in Montreal renowned clubs and like Groove Society, Ilume, Living, Time and Upperclub, building his reputation as a versatile, crowd moving DJ. Also he played in after-hour venues like Aria, Stereo and Circus where he's one of the actual main resident DJ's. Then he had the opportunity to play alongside local veteran DJs like Christian Pronovost, Jojo Flores and Fred Everything, as well as being the opening act for international DJ's/producers like Mark Farina, DJ Spen, Roy Davis jr, DJ Pierre & DJ Heather. He got influenced by the sounds of Masters at Work, Basement Boys, Dimitri from Paris, as well as DJ's like "Little" Louie Vega, DJ Spen, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and Roger Sanchez. During the years, Pat Boogie has made a name for himself in the Montreal scene, personifying the ideal combination of the "educator/entertainer" type of DJ. The one that would maintain the balance between introducing his crowd to new, and fresh sounds, and entertaining them with what they would like to hear. With a deep, funky, bumping and soulful spirit to his music selection, his sets includes energetic deep house, latin-brazilian oriented tracks, disco grooves, urban flavors and club classics, all programmed with a unique flair and a great presence behind the DJ booth
