Description
From Tribal to Tech House, Electronica to Techno, there are very few in the music industry who aren’t familiar with the sound of DJ Louie Corrales. As a veteran in the house music scene, Louie prides himself in his unparalled versatility and artistic skill… and has never stopped evolving.
Growing up in a Latin household in Brooklyn NY, music was an essential part of his life early on. Taking direction from a musical father, he was exposed to all genres of music from Latin, disco, country and pop. At an early age, Louie developed a deep appreciation for music and started building his musical base. Utilizing record shops on the Lower East Side such as 8 ball and Satellite records, Louie spent the majority of his time and money investing in his passion for music. His simple beginning started with making mixes for friends and DJing high school parties; he knew this is exactly where he belonged.
While attending the University of Maryland, promoters began to talk of the need for a NY style DJ to play at various venues in DC leading to Louie’s first gig at Papermoon in the summer of 1999. Back in NYC, in an unexpected twist of events, Louie was approached by Dimitry of NightClubCity to launch his first weekly internet radio show; a platform that would give him just the right combination of exposure and marketability.
A trip to Montreal in late 2003 brought him together with now current manager Jonpaul Pezzo (Trust Us Entertainment) a relationship that would prove to be one of mutual vision and respect. Showcasing his musical talent from HK’s (NYC) to Crobar (NYC), Cielo (NYC), Avalon (NYC), Sullivan Room (NYC), Deko (NJ) or Pacha (NYC), playing alongside Boris, Richie Santana, Peter Bailey, Junior Vasquez, Chus & Ceballos, Dubfire or BT… from NY to Miami, DC to Boston… there are no limits to where Louie Corrales can and will expand his musical playground.
Lately, you’ll find Louie expanding the “Vibrate” brand up and down the east coast, working endless nights of production with longtime friend Nick Narouz, as a frequent guest on Steve Porter’s Sirius/XM radio show ‘Porterhouse’ or penetrating spots such as Glo (LI), Deko (NJ), Surf Club (NJ), Underbar (Boston), Mekka (Miami) and Pachita/Pacha (NYC) with his never-ending rotation of unimaginable beats. Greenhouse (NYC) is now home to Louie’s latest venture, a long awaited afterhours residency. WMC 2010 brings Louie to even new heights, spinning at Rok Bar and the annual Surfcomber pool party with longtime friend DJ Boris.
“Louie is one of the most versatile DJ’s around. He is able to play such a range of different styles catering to what moves the dance floor. [He] has the right attitude to make it in this business and has a very, very bright future ahead of him.” –Binoy Shah (of Real Talent Management)
His fans and critics alike, impatiently await his bright future…
