Every once in a while on this scene of ours, the stars alignand a new name spins out across the cosmos. In 2012 that name is Laura Jones. A protégé under the Visionquest banner and nurtured under the wings ofLeftroom, Laura exploded into the public consciousness in 2011 with her deepand intrinsically melodic vision of house. Her ‘Live A Little’ track wasincluded on the ‘Visionquest Spring’ sampler, and her breakthrough single ‘LoveIn Me’ stormed the Beatport chart and held the no.1 spot for several consecutiveweeks – the second time courtesy of stellar remixes from Maceo Plex, Kate Simkoand Eats Everything. With both her music and DJ sets now resonating across dancefloors worldwide,Laura has laid the groundwork for another year in the limelight. In the months ahead we can expect to see much more of Laura’s diminutivestature, which include plans to incorporate more of her own vocals in herproductions. Additionally, the in-demand producer has a star-spangledforthcoming release schedule lined up, including remixing Hollis P Monroe’sclassic ‘I’m Lonely’ on Noir Music, as well as ‘Inner Place’ on CrosstownRebels, along with a full artist EP for Visionquest, which dots the I on thislatest slate of music. Crossing the T on her climb through the DJ ranks is the‘Leftroom presents Laura Jones’ mix compilation which, this April, will allowLaura to present a snapshot of the music which is helping to move her,literally, around the world.
