Description
"It all started whilst growing up in Queens, New York. James spent weekend evenings tuned to the late night rap radio shows,of KISS FM, WBLS and the old HOT 97. His exposure to, and envy of spinning skills, like legendary DJ Red Alert, ensured summers were spent at the infamous Queens Bridge park jams, with DJ & sound equipment rigged upto nearby electricity light poles. The lure of local house parties, further opened James' eyes to a vibrant mix of groove genres. generating around him. Rap, R & B, House, Freestyle & Reggae were very much the staple diet of local New York DJ's spinning in and around 1985. However, it was that one afternoon - listening to Hot 97 - which changed everything - the unmistakable sound of "This is acid" assaulted the airwaves. And the life of the kid, one day destined to become DJ James Stratus, would never be the same. Now a Miami resident, James has paid his DJ dues by being nothing more than original. Gaining respect and recognition from peers and fans alike, he's played at raves and clubs from New York to Miami, Sweden to Haiti. Now a producer & remixer, his reputation is surely growing worldwide as he embraces a deeper Progressive Tech/House style, incorporating the eclectic styles he has absorbed over the years. Quite simply, DJ James Stratus is looking to dominate the DJ nations - one deck at a time!"
