Scottish rave-fave Hostage is always hard at work in the clubs and in the studio creating fresh, tough bass and beats that span a wide spectrum of musical styles with devastating dancefloor accuracy. Over the last few years his party-pilgrimage has taken him all over Europe, US, Asia and Australia bringing a heady mix of rave, electro and dubstep to the bass-hungry masses. 2009 saw a rapid rise into the limelight through much increased BBC Radio 1 support culminating in a live Radio 1 Essential mix with Annie Mac in January 2010, as well as playing along side her at the Manchester Apollo and Rockness Festivals later in the year. His tracks are a firm fixture in the mix-tapes of the most in demand club and radio DJs from Crookers to JFK and Radio 1xtra’s Mistajam. Hostage has been seen at some of the best club nights around including Death Disco, Chew the Fat, Bigger Than Barry as well as an explosive set at the Arcadia Afterburner stage at Glastonbury. He releases tracks as part of the uber-cool Berlin ‘Nightshifters’ collective, as well as on Calvertron’s ‘Jack Knife’ label and JFK from MSTRKRFT’s ‘Teenage Riot’ imprint not to mention the constant barrage of rave ammo being distributed for free across the internet, Hostage is a formidable producer, remixer and DJ showman.
