Five Knives went from playing basement parties in their hometown of Nashville, to being one of the breakout bands from last years SXSW Festival. Not a bad leap after only having 3 live shows under their belt. With a sound that journalist have described as “bombastic,” this aggressive mix of electronic, indie rock, and hip-hop has garnered the group attention from labels and bloggers alike.
Anna Worstell, who fronts the band, performs with unending energy, and holds your attention with her every move. The rest of the Knives (Lamar Baptiste, Zach Hall, Shane Wise), play live instruments that sound more like something a DJ would mix in the hottest clubs.
After their breakout debut performances, the band was added to several premiere electronic festivals as well as upcoming dates with Girl Talk, Araab Muzik, Skrillex, and Pretty Lights. The future looks bright for this foursome, and the meteoric rise of Five Knives doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
