Description
From playing records for friends’ parties at a very young age to some of Miami’s most premier nightclubs, Chris is definitely not the new kid on the block of music. Formerly known as S1, this young talent has been breaking boundaries of sound for quite some time now, with radio shows, television performances and guest appearances already under his belt. Shortly after his move to the Big Apple, Chris discovered an array of musical influences among New York City’s nightlife as well as a renewed appreciation for Electronic Dance music.
After the release of his first single “Up Down” with Music Zone Records, Chris’ trademark sound catapulted him to the next level of his career. With his unique blend of tribal tech-infused sounds, progressive and electro house beats and pure, raw energy, Chris went on to produce and remix for a multitude of European house labels including Purple Gate Records and Clubstream Label Group. Besides countless releases on Beatport and iTunes, Chris has also been featured on “The Kids Want Tech House 2″ double-disc compilation and created his own for Clubstream. Inspired by the YouTube sensation, “Sh*t Miami Girls Say… and Guys,” Chris Valencia adopted this concept and created another dance floor smash, with an infectious chorus line that we would all grow to love, “I can not deal with that Tiki Tiki Music.” Supported by numerous local DJs, it wouldn’t take long for one of the biggest names in the Miami House music scene to take notice. DJ and producer Armand Pena, founder of The Rhythm Freak Records, signed “Sh*t Miami Girls Say” to his label and selected it as one of the tracks for his signature Welcome 2 Miami Compilation series. His follow up single, Here We Go Again, would later be signed by world famous DJ and Producer, Alex Kenji, and his Hotfingers label. It was also added to the label’s 2013 Ibiza Mix Compilation series.
Chris’s most recent single to date, “The Jungle” was released on Sydney Blu’s label, Blu music this past October. Sydney Blu also named the track her favorite track off of her label compilation.
As a resident DJ for the Opium Group, Chris currently holds weekly residencies at Mansion, SET Miami, Mokai, Space Miami and can be heard on any given night at some of Miami’s most popular nightlife venues, such as the “world famous” Nikki Beach and Hyde at the SLS and to name a few.
Along with his Miami residencies, Chris also has played some of the biggest venues around the world such as Pink Elephant Sao Paolo, Mansion Mexico City, Cielo NYC, and Praia Beach Rio De Janeiro. He’s had numerous club appearances playing alongside some of the biggest acts in the music industry such as Paul Van Dyke, Zedd, Borgore, Carnage, Adventure Club, Swanky Tunes, GTA, Manufactured Superstars, Norman Doray, Hard Rock Sofa, Art Department, R.L. Grime, Dillon Francis, and Richard Grey amongst others.
There’s so much more to come from Chris, so stay tuned as he attacks the next projects on his extensive to-do list.
