The duo of electronic musicians known as Bass Cadettes have released their new EP record album, titled, "Freak Show." The album consists of three original tracks, "Freak Show," "Outrageous," and "Rumspringa," for an approximate total listening time of 11 minutes. The album has been released on the Forte Records music label out now on Beatport, Itunes, amazon, etc.
Bass Cadettes are a New Jersey EDM crew that features the talents of Victoria (Tori) Avallone, and Salvatore Capuano. They cite as main artistic influences such popular electronic dance music artists as Bassnectar, Skrillex, Knife Party, Kill the Noise, Datsik, Excision, Krewella, Icona Pop, Major Lazer, and Zeds Dead [sic]. As may be intuited, their music derives much of its iconic tone and timbre, style and sound from the modern dubstep movement, but also from such lesser-known musical subcultures as moombahcore and drumstep, as well as what they term "all bass music."
Speaking of their musical chemistry, they write, "The two of us were brought together by our love for music, and more specifically, EDM. When it comes down to production, we balance each other out with Tori's lyrics and vocals combined with Sal's knowledge of music production."
Capuano represents the musical engineer and main composer of the group, while Avallone provides gorgeous original vocal tracks for which Bass Cadettes have quickly become popular in the East Coast underground scene. Their Twitter feed, YouTube channels and official website have been thronged with fans since their appearance on the main stage of Philadelphia's Sound Garden Hall.
They say of the themes on their EP, "The message that the 'Freak Show' EP shares with its listeners is to be free spirited, follow your dreams, let loose and be the freak that you are!"
