Liane V Details
Liane V is poised and ready for international superstardom. She is a multiple threat, who sings, writes, dances, models and acts. The camera absolutely loves her, as proven by her legion of fans that regularly flock to see her comedic video shorts on the Vine app. Liane V personifies today’s young up and coming multi-media star; which is why she caught the attention of producers “Bruce Waynne” and “Dirty Swift” of the Grammy Award-winning production team, Midi Mafia, and their partners of the multi-media production company Brand X.
Since the turn of 2014, Liane and Brand X have been in the studio diligently writing, producing and recording new music. Out the gate are two new songs for release: the infectious street-banger “Sway,” which will serve as a teaser to her official first single, “Whatchu Gon’ Do,” featuring rappers Problem and Brand X affiliate Mucho DiNero. For longtime Liane followers, these songs represent a departure from the conservative Pop material she would post on YouTube, to a new sound that is decisively edgier and urban.
Liane is of Filipino descent. She was born in San Jose, California, raised in Modesto, and now resides in Los Angeles. Her parents owned a nurse registry, and ran a DJ company on the side, which allowed Liane the opportunity to accompany them to weddings, festivals and fiestas where they spun some of the best party music ever. Being around an inordinate amount of music inspired a young Liane to want to become a performer. Like many red-blooded American girls, she excelled in school, participated in gymnastics, cheerleading and played basketball. But it was music that truly sparked her soul. “I remember taking band, singing in the choir, and performing in lots of talent shows,” Liane recalls. “But it was music that took over. It became my getaway and therapy. So many of my friendships were built around my love for music.”
Not one to wait around, Liane took to YouTube and social media to promote herself. She would begin by producing a consistent flow of videos performing familiar cover songs by the likes of Aaliyah, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Whitney Houston, and more. She soon became a highly-popular sensation on Vine, where her fun-loving personality was on full display. Between her exposure on YouTube, Twitter and Vine, her social media followers have grown past an astounding 3 million. Not bad for an artist that until 2014 had no major backing.
Liane has been presented with a number of other opportunities that have further expanded her brand in music and beyond. She placed third in the Miss Philippines Beauty Contest, and was a contestant in the Miss Asia USA Cultural Pageant. She accompanied Dev of the Pop-Dance group the Cataracts on tour as a back-up singer. She has made appearances in videos by rapper Tyga, and Pop group The Far East Movement. As a TV commentator, Liane has been a red carpet host for such popular shows as the Voice, X-Factor and American Idol.
In the spring of 2014, Liane launched her line of urban street ware called, Donut Headz. The line includes an assortment of fashionable snapbacks, tank tops, and t-shirts. “I’m really proud of this new venture,” she says. “It was cool to come up with some things that I know my fans would love to wear.” The line gained such immediate popularity, causing the Donut Headz website to shut down during its launch due to the unexpected high traffic.
In addition to the release of her music with Brand X, an upcoming promo tour and new clothing line, Liane is excited about her series of Fitness Videos coming in 2014/2015. “I love everything I’m doing when it comes to being creative,” she says, “but music has and always will be my first passion. I’ve always been around it, and have grown into it. Through music I have even bigger plans, and that is to become an international artist. With continued effort and focus, along with the strong team behind me, I believe that’s going to happen.”
