Jochen Miller Details

Synthesizing a never-heard-before compound of electronic music styles, Jochen’s audio has come to embody today’s freeform big-room-filling ethic. From his earliest turntable & studio days, the young Netherlander’s experiments in sound have consciously dismantled traditional EDM boundaries. Confounding efforts to pigeonhole him, its delivered a style that’s seen club floors reach critical mass all the way from Atlanta to Zagreb. A spinner who defies comparison, he’s long since conquered his home country, playing tent-pole events like Dance Valley, Mysteryland and Trance Energy, before casting his high-impact sound further afield. That most recently has seen him extensively tour continents including South America and assume a new residency at Miami’s prestigious Mansion club.

Production-wise Jochen is now most quickly associated with his string of releases on BeYourselfMusic’s Big & Dirty label. These have included his ‘Dammit’, ‘Cheer Up’ and ‘Attic’ solo productions, which have lynch-pinned his sets and packed the young Dutchman’s floors. Enjoying comparable radio, club and fan acclaim have been ‘Bash’, ‘Perfect Day’ and ‘Southpoint’, co-produced respectively alongside Marco V, Rank 1 and SL8. In summer 2013 he broke new stylistic collaboration ground once again, working with underground Swedish rock collective Dogs With Jeans on ‘We Have Tonight’

The DJ: In 2000 Jochen became the first ever resident at Nijmegen’s scene setting Matrixx club. With his charismatic, easy-going nature, crowd-attuned deck approach and clued-up style he quickly made a name for himself there, as well as other renowned spots including Eindhoven’s DansSalon. From that foundation he’s begun to propagate his sound globally, paying regular spinning visits to the USA & Canada, Russia, Italy, the UK, Germany, Poland (for the Sunrise Festival) and the Czech Republic. In 2012 he made his EDC debut at the NYC & LV events; completed his first Mexican tour and embarked on the Stereosonic tour of Australia. He also holds residencies at Mansion in Miami and the Ministry of Sound in London. Miller is signed to the David Lewis Productions DJ agency - home to A-list spinners including Armin van Buuren and W&W.

Productions & Remixes: Following his earliest turn-of-the-millennium productions (inc. ‘Surround Me’ & 7th Heaven’), Jochen’s discography went into overdrive with the launch of broad-range music label High Contrast. ‘uPad’, ‘Chromatic’, ‘Humanoid’, ‘Lost Connection’ and ‘Face Value’ all provided heavy- impact floor artillery, finding favour with tougher-minded DJs, including Marco V, Sander van Doorn and Judge Jules.

Alongside his productions, Jochen Miller remixes have latterly become a much sought after commodity. He has reworked the likes of Fedde le Grand & Nicky Romero’s ‘Sparks’ and Morgan Page feat. Jonathan Mendelsohn ‘Where Did You Go’ for the Flamingo and Nettwerk labels respectively.

Compilations: Jochen has been mixing compilations as far back as 2002 (when he put together the first Matrixx CD). He now has six to his name - the most recent being High Contrast Recordings Presents Jochen Miller and the co-mixing of EnTrance Presents High Contrast alongside Rank 1.

Radio Show: In 2010 Jochen began a monthly radio show… Stay Connected is broadcast on an ever- expanding list of stations, which already include AH:FM, Dance Tunes Radio, Trance FM, Radio Hi-Tec and SATO Radio. With the program also available as an iTunes and MixCloud podcast, the sixty minute show delivers his unique sound-fusionworldwide every month. He also compiles and mixes the quarterly iTunes-released Stay Connected compilations, which draw the best of the best music from his radio show for commercially released mixes.
