It’s something he has dedicated himself to and his infectious enthusiasm trickles down into every last tweet, every Instagram tag he launches into the vast online sphere. Those who have witnessed the passionate Scot perform know his specially brewed brand of big room house is particularly formidable, almost every track in his record box has been personalised in some shape or form to fit his energetic electro sets.
Production is where Jack intends to focus his efforts this year with a particular emphasis his very own label IBZ Records. With tracks like AU and Out Of Order as well as the formidable Woke UP a rework of the well-known Sopranos track from Alabama 3, the budding producer has started as he means to go on. 2014 sees the label take another step in the right direction with remixes from a plethora of big hitters including most interestingly a remix from Tiesto which came about following continued support for Jack’s productions on his internationally renowned Clublife show. The Dutch legend will be putting his personal touch to a forthcoming Jack Eye Jones anthem that is sure to cement his position as one to watch in 2014. The coming months will also see the release of another up and coming JEJ banger in Far East which has already received early support from Avicii on his Le7els show and will be accompanied by a tasty remix from Mixmash and Revealed Records duo Blasterjaxx. With backing already forthcoming from a host of international DJs, including the aformentioned Avicii and the almighty Tiësto on his Clublife show as well as the likes of Radio 1 and Capital FM it’s clear this is a man on the rise.
Jack’s own radio presence comes in the form of his monthly podcast series ‘Ibiza Sessions’ which emerged from his ever-popular ‘I Love Ibiza’ series of events. The podcast regularly rides high in the Top 10 iTunes UK Chart and even reached the Number 1 position on four occasions in 2013 with the staggering milestone of over 1 million downloads reached in just a few episodes. The podcast manages to capture the essence of the Jack Eye Jones sound as well as a little Ibizan flavour. This is where Jack has really distinguished himself, beating competition from the likes of Armin Van Buuren and Hardwell to dominate the playlists of dance fans all over the UK. Each episode is devoured by thousands of listeners every week eager to hear those infamous Scottish tones introducing the freshest new music out there.
The past summer saw JEJ also representing the esteemed Colours brand from his native Scotland on the White Isle for the Colours Presents Ibiza Sessions boat party series on six different occasions performing alongside the likes of Dannic, Dyro, Mark Knight and personal friend, the renowned Jon Mancini. In between his various Colours performances he also found time to kickstart the Cream presence in Ibiza this summer at their opening boat party. Whether it at one of the many hallowed venues on the island or on one of his well respected boat parties Jack Eye Jones has impressed in recent months in his live performance endeavors with a headline slot at the renowned Arches in Glasgow, a particular highlight for the enigmatic Scot. Another high point saw Jack take control at the Cream Friends Arena at Creamfields 2013 and deliver one of the most talked about sets of the festival. Added to this he also found time to host his own arena at Size Matters another important milestone for the Ibizan based producer, an occasion which for those lucky enough to be in attendance will forever be fondly remembered.
So it would appear that 2014 is a year full of promise for a man who lives and breathes a 4/4 beat. With a host of new productions on the way as well as a tightly packed touring schedule and new episodes of his ever-present radio show there is no doubt Jack Eye Jones is set to leave his distinct imprint on the bourgeoning world of dance music.
