Djedjotronic Details

Over the years, Djedjotronic has built a strong and singular sound identity. His versatile music directly inspired by Detroit techno and Warp electronica is a hybrid combining mechanical electro and dystopian techno.

Key player in the electronic world, he’s equally appreciated for his productions and his performances showcasing his nonlinear vision of electronic music. Djedjotronic is also known for his works as a remixer for UNKLE, Tiga, Boys Noize, Chilly Gonzales, Chromeo, Housemeister, Surkin, Birdy Nam Nam, M.A.N.D.Y, Miss Kittin and Depeche Mode.

In 2011, the French producer moved to Berlin. That's where he wrote his last productions such as his "Kaiko" EP on Boysnoize Records. Nevertheless, he still maintains strong ties with France and has signed in 2013 the maxi "Abyssal Zone" for the label Zone created by Gesaffelstein and The Hacker. Six minutes of Drexciyan electro that conjures up visions of primordial sea creatures, long forgotten leviathans drifting through the ruins of sunken cities.

In August, Djedjotronic will release a solo EP untitled “Drum Program” which is a collection of tools he basically made for his Dj sets, followed by “Pleasure & Pain” Ep including a featuring with Miss Kittin.

Later this fall he’ll be releasing his new project “INTERSTATE 101”, a mixed compilation of unreleased tracks from The Hacker, Defekt, Dynarec, Maelstrom, Glass Figure and many more.

Jeremy Cottereau aka Djedjotronic was 9 when he first discovered electronic music. He used to steal Jean Michel Jarre’s “Equinox” from his brother’s discotheque. At this early age, he spent most of the day playing randomly with his Casio synthesizer, composing naive melodies and exploring an enduring fascination for machines.

A few years and a participation in a college rock band after, he realized that he never lost his sense of wonderment at electronic music. At the age of 17, he decided to buy his first MPC sampler and started making his own music.

Discovering Warp Records, through compilations such as “Artificial Intelligent”, constantly on repeat, had a big influence on Jeremy. The futuristic IDM music fascinated him and he slowly got more and more involved into it.

Legendary Detroit based label “Underground Resistance” was the next step. Model 500 and Drexciyan electro became the subaquatic landscape he wanted to explore.

Jeremy started experimenting his music in clubs with the now famous Popof, releasing several collaborations and touring together under the name “Wee-Kids”.

His First Ep on Boys Noize records, “Dirty & Hard” released in 2009, was a collaboration with South African rapper Spoek Mathambo, fusioning modern jackin’ house and techno music in order to create a bridge between genre shores.

He appeared on Tsugi magazine’s #38 cover alongside Busy P and Dj Medhi. He charted his analog bomb “Uranus” #1 on Beatport and got the opportunity to play right after Aphex Twin’s live set at “SONAR festival” in Barcelona.

Since then, Cottereau released 7 Eps, over twenty remixes for the likes of M.A.N.D.Y, Boys Noize, Miss Kittin and Depeche mode, collaborated with Maelstrom on the compilation Sound Pellegrino Vol.1 and played in most of the major electronic music event worldwide such as I Love Techno, Sonar, Fusion or Nuits Sonores just to name a few.
