An emotive singer/songwriter, Anson Seabra makes artfully crafted and philosophical, piano-driven pop. He emerged online in 2018 and built a fan base with songs like "Broken" and "Emerald Eyes." A Kansas City, Missouri native, Seabra started taking piano lessons at age six and played in school bands growing up.

The Bowery Ballroom is a music venue in the Bowery section of Manhattan, New York City. The structure, at 6 Delancey Street, was built just before the Wall Street Crash in 1929. In 1998 it was converted into a music venue. It has a capacity of 575 people. There are no seats as the entire venue has standing areas only.

The El Rey Theatre is an original art deco theater in the heart of the Miracle Mile, one of Los Angeles' preserved art deco districts. The El Rey was built in 1936 and designed by Clifford Balch. After over 50 years as a first run movie house, the El Rey was converted into a live music venue in 1994. A registered Historic-Cultural Monument, the El Rey has sweeping staircases, an art deco lobby, VIP balcony lounge and a grand ballroom equipped with a full stage.

House of Blues venues are home to the largest permanently displayed collection of Outsider and American Folk Art, often referred to as Southern Vernacular Art. More than 150 untrained, self-taught and mostly African-American artists are represented in this living museum that features artwork that is as diverse as the music on the House of Blues stages. Notable artists such as Mose T., Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Leroy Almon, Roy Ferdinand, Howard Finster, Richard Burnside, Ruth Mae McCrane, Jon Bok and Archie Byron, to name just a few, created emotional, raw, primitive and powerful pieces which serve as a Visual Blues, and is exhibited on the walls of all its restaurants and music halls. Art and music portraying 20th century black Americans is a powerful representation of the cultural journey toward healing the traumas of slavery and systemic racism. In the presence of darkness and division, artistic expression brings forth the light of creation and community.

There is no doubt that La Madeleine has a great many endearing features, including its unique design, with its double flight of metal staircases surrounding a small stage, and a long corridor running all around the room. 

Designed to be modular, the venue allows an eclectic concert programme covering a range of musical styles, music hall shows, stand-up, etc. But it can also put on shows for several weeks, in the heart of the capital, giving a further boost to Brussels’ cultural credentials and appeal, and meeting a demand from the professionals for a venue of this capacity.

O2 Forum Kentish Town is a major live entertainment venue in London and one of the UK’s best preserved, original cinematic theatres.

It was originally built as an Art Deco cinema in 1934 by Herbert Yapp, a cinema magnate who also owned the Forum cinemas in Ealing and Fulham and the architect was J. Stanley Beard with interior design managed by his partner W.R. Bennett.

The venue launched with a grand opening ceremony of music and films, conducted by the star Sydney Howard, on 17 December 1934 and was taken over in March 1935 by Associated British Cinemas (ABC) along with the other Forum cinemas and changed renamed the ABC until 1963, 28 years later.

The ABC cinema closed in 1970 to become a bingo hall and then a dance hall and in the 1980s the venue's name and usage was changed to the Town & Country Club. It became one of the must-play venues on the indie circuit for up-and-coming bands as well as established acts. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, bands that played included The Velvet Underground and Pixies to Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine and The Wedding Present.

In recent years, O2 Forum Kentish Town has seen some legendary performers take to the stage including, Dave Grohl and Sound City players, Jack White, Rihanna, Bobby Womack, Justin Timberlake and KISS.

Resurrected Velvet Underground club will be reopening as a live music venue in February.

Local entertainment group Embrace Presents has taken over the Queen West venue, which closed in September, and plans to open the revived space early in the new year.

“We heard the Velvet was closing, so we immediately reached out as we had always been huge fans of the venue,” says Embrace’s CEO, Adam Gill.

Embrace has already started to revamp it to focus solely on live music. “We plan is to modernize it and we are doing a big renovation as we speak,” Gill says, “The main difference will be that its focus will be on live music as a concert venue where before it was more a club for goth or industrial music.”

The space, which has been a go-to place for rock, new-wave and metal, was dissolved by Liberty Entertainment Group back in September. According to a press release, the Liberty was shifting gears to focus on expanding a repertoire of wine bars and clubs.

Considered a musical institution by many, the intimate venue has featured an impressive roster of Canadian artists, including Alanis Morissette, who celebrated her chart-topping album release party of Jagged Little Pill there in 1995.

Embrace has announced their official reopening party will take place on February 12, with Toronto’s own dystopian-pop group, TRUST to ring in the comeback of the space.

“We had thought it would be an amazing live venue for a few years now,” say Gill. “Since the Bigbop/reverb closed there has been a void left in the market and we plan to help bring live music back to Queen Street.”
